Flat Esoteric is a Naarm-based DJ/Producer known for her eclectic selections, spanning a wide range of genres with a focus on deep techno, IDM and experimental sounds. She blends abstraction, intricate textures, low-end cadence, breaks, frenetic percussion, off-kilter elements, and swung grooves crafting a moody, detail-driven palette that is attuned to deep listening.
Focused on journey, she tracks a distinct progression across her sets, connecting tasteful blends that build over time to form a compelling and cohesive narrative.
Her debut single Daisy is a descent into shadowy rhythm and spacious atmosphere. A mixture of bass heavy grooves and propulsive percussion set within an ominous landscape. The track drifts between weight and space, creating moments of tension and reprieve.
Beyond the booth, she is involved in local radio curation, hosting a bi-monthly residency on Area3000 and has contributed guest mixes to international platforms including NTS, Fango Radio, Subtle Radio and Hong Kong Community Radio. She is responsible for the curation and production of ‘Soft Launch’ – an event series that focuses on the intersection of sound, space, atmosphere, and community.
